Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco was born in Canada, and is now American. She has released more than 20 albums. DiFranco's music has been classified as folk as well as alternative rock, but it has additional influence from hip music and jazz. Ani DiFranco, widely regarded as an icon of women's rights and Grammy award-winning musician is thought to be to be the first creator in DIY music. She was among the first musicians to launch their own labels in the year 1990. DiFranco was the child of Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco.
