
Bellamy Young (born Amy Maria Young born on February 19, 1970)[1Bellamy Young is an American actor, producer, and singer. She is best known for her role as Melody "Mellie" Grant in the ABC drama show Scandal (2012-2018). She was the recipient of the 2014 Critics' Choice Television Award for the best actress supporting in a drama series. Additionally, she was a star in Fox's Prodigal Son (1919-2021). Young started her career as an actor at the theatre. In 1997 she had her Broadway debut as Mary in the initial The Life cast. The Life. [8][9] She has also played off Broadway in Stephen Sondheim's music production Merrily we Roll Along (1994), and Randy Newman's Faust (1995-1996). [3][10] She first appeared on television in the year 1995 as her character, Dr. Courtney Evans, in the role of a regular in the NBC soap opera Another World. She appeared on Law & Order in 1997 and 1998, in two distinct characters. The year 1999 saw her film debut with an uncredited role on the crime drama Black and White and later co-starred in several independent films. The mid-2000s saw her was able to appear on a number of drama and comedy programs, including The Drew Carey Show and The X Files. Young appeared on more than thirty TV programs from 2000 and 2011.
